A new look and a new approach. If you’re familiar with our business you may have noticed some changes lately.

We’ve launched our new website and soon we'll be launching an exciting and innovative new service - Claim Watch. Claim Watch lets claim customers monitor the progress of their claim assessment online, when it suits them. With the expansion of our assessing services nationwide, we now offer a seamless service to underwriters and insurers. We thought it was time to make that clear. Behind the fresh new initiatives we’re still the same innovative and service focussed business. The new developments are all part of our ongoing commitment to improving our business and the way we do things.
Bigger and better. Our services are nationwide. Our business has grown a lot in recent months.

In 2005 we expanded our services to TOWER Insurance. Advance Assessing now looks after all of TOWER’s house, contents, car, boat and rural claims across New Zealand (excluding Auckland). And we have assessors located nationwide. Together with our investigation division, we’re successfully managing more than 400 new claims each week.
So how have we done it? Having a centralised operation means we can use standardised processes and systems to cope with large inflows of new business and continue to provide a smooth, professionally managed, quality service to our clients and their claims customers. We now provides a nationwide service with both divisions working together to provide a seamless service to the underwriter and their insured.
Understanding the devastating floods at Matata.
31 August 2006
The floods in May 2005 were devastating for residents of the small township of Matata, near Whakatane.
It was reported in the NZ Herald that the Bay of Plenty floods left a $40 million bill for the Government and 156 homes uninhabitable, many with irreparable damage. We were there to help some of the victims – TOWER Insurance customers - with their insurance claims and assess the cause of the event and the extensive damage it left.
Flooding and rapid debri flows, capable of carrying boulders up to seven metres across, were a result of the heavy rainfall and the debris avalanches or landslides it triggered. Prior to the floods, earthquakes had been shaking Matata for many months but our investigations found that these didn’t contribute to the 18 May disaster. Sadly, as a result of the floods, areas around Matata are now unsafe for habitation and may be more at risk if flooding was to strike again.
